Sketchual Heeling- ABCENSE Taiwan Fall '16 Shoe Sketches

ABCENSE Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

We spotted ABCENSE's architecturally inspired AW16 shoes and accessories collection at a recent Capsule Show in New York. To say it was love at first sight would be an understatement– metal accents, exaggerated details and supple leathers all combined to create unexpectedly versatile statement pieces. The Taiwan-based design duo behind ABCENSE found inspiration for this particular collection on a trip to Rotterdam, South Holland. The colors in the collection are a tribute to those seen when gazing upon the city at dusk. The geometric metal heels reflect the De Stijl style of art that became popular in Amsterdam in 1917.

When we later got eyes on a few sketches via the brand's latest look book, we simply had to share.

Pricepoints on shoes in their current collection tend to range from about $400-$600. Stay tuned for images of the collection as Fall 16 approaches.

Sketchual Heeling: Giuseppe Zanotti Spring 2012

Drawing Attention

I can’t get enough of Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. They’re sexy, fun, unique and still quite classy. I also adore designer shoe sketches, so I feel compelled to share when awesome illustrations cross my computer screen. What do you think of these works of art from the Spring 2012 collection?

Sketchual Heeling: Ruthie Davis’s Favorites

Drawn to Perfection

Ruthie Davis’s designs range from daring to down right dicey. Her spike-, neon strap- and stud-adorned shoes have complimented the sartorial choices of style inspirers from Beyonce to Lady Gaga, and, well, I swoon every time I spy a pair. She recently shared some of her favorite sketches from the S/S ‘11 collection on her blog, and though I’m still feeling faint from the sight, I figured I’d share a couple of the ones I like most.

Sketchual Heeling: Ra Synclaire for Shoes N Booze

Shoes Inspired by Booze

By day, Ra Synclaire designs comfort shoes, but once she’s out of the office, she let’s her inner Shoe-per hero shine via sketches of lust-worthy shoes. After seeing her sketches on her blog, 6 Pairs, 12 Steps (look for my “In Her Shoes” feature there soon), I asked her to send me a few to post here. She then came up with the idea of designing some inspired by her favorite cocktails. My favorites ore the Classic Cosmopolitan and the St. Germaine Cocktail. What are yours?
