Fun Friday- BCA Month: Miss Mary Mac Breast Cancer Pumps

Pink Ribbon Special

With Breast Cancer Awareness Month drawing to a close, it's only right to shout your support from the rafters (or let your footwear do it for you). You've never been afraid of a little extra attention, so put on these pink ribbon print pumps by Miss Mary Mac. The pink sequined bow at the front and ribbon detail at the back give them a bit of sparkle & sizzle. Meanwhile, the 5 inch heel makes them a fun party shoe. Plus, the designer informed me that she donated partial proceeds from sales of this limited edition design to breast cancer research.

If you're going to wear pink ribbons on your feet, you might as well have a Pink Ribbon in your glass, too. Made with p.i.n.k. Vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, black currant juice and a splash of sour mix, it's a sweet-but-strong concoction. The caffeine and guarana in the vodka will give you the energy to party the night away. Just be careful not to have too many. A hyper drunk person isn't fun company. Plus, you're more likely to ruin your pretty shoes in an impaired state.

Don't Mess with Me Monday: Givenchy Cutout Shoes & P.I.N.K. Blackberry Martinis

Hot in the City

You're still feeling your Mother's Day high, so you're feeling pretty girly, but you've got meetings today and business to handle. Plus you can't miss tonight's happy hour. What shoes fill your footwear needs better than a severely femme pair of heels like these
Givenchy Cutout Shoes (available at net-a-porter.com)? The lace-up design is pretty serious and the 4.5 inch heel is no joke, but the color is bright, fun and sexy (just like you). Let them add a pop of color to a cropped, dark colored suit, wear them with fitted a dress or experiment with other options. Just remember your best bet is a little fashionable juxtaposition.

A vivid pair of shoes deserves a drink that's just as intense. If all eyes aren't on your feet tonight, they'll be on your drink, especially if you're sipping a P.I.N.K. Blackberry Martini (Image & recipe courtesy of P.I.N.K Vodka). The verdict's been out sometime on what ultra girly-looking cocktails say about a woman, but this one won't hurt your image at all. It combines P.I.N.K Vodka, blackberry brandy, Cointreau, a little cranberry juice, a splash of sour mix and a few blackberries, so it's not a "college girl" drink. Since you're all grown up now, you'll avoid joining the ranks of recent video scandal victims by drinking responsibly.

Shoe News/ Wild Wednesday: Omelle's Andre & P.I.N.K. Leprechaun Martinis

After seeing them in ELLE Magazine, Lucky, Footwear News and some of our other go-to glossies, the Shoes & Booze team has been lusting for Omelle shoes for some time. We're happy to share the news that their website's virtual boutique is (finally) active! To celebrate, we're highlighting some of their shoe art for today's Wild Wednesday post.

Gone Fishing

The mercury's been doing a yo-yo move lately, and it's likely been causing you a bit of footwear frustration. Today's a day of fantasy. Pretend it's hot outside, and throw on a pair of super-chic sandals. OK, let's not go that far. Wear some pumps, but fantasize about these Andre sandals by Omelle (available at omelle.com). You may not be one for the outdoors, but this shoe's perch scale upper means you still appreciate its spoils. The 4 inch detailed heel, which we feel imitates both the fish bone structure and hunters' arrows, says you've got some strong instincts of your own. The actual design of the shoe is simultaneously simple and futuristic, so while you've got your eye on the prize, there's still something a bit practical about you. And then there's the neutral color of the shoe... it gives you almost limitles outfit options (except other animal prints).

Today's also St. Patrick's Day, so for we're doing something a little different. Since you probably can't wear the above shoe anyway (unless you're in the warmer parts of the country), we decided to give you a drink you can actually have. Irish drumroll please... It's the P.I.N.K. Leprechaun Martini (recipe & image courtesy of Drinkoftheweek.com)! This sweet, effervescent mixture of P.I.N.K Vodka, Bailey's Irish Cream and green creme de menthe (accented with chocolate syrup) will have Irish eyes smiling (and everyone else's too). Just remember that if you down too many, you'll need the luck o' the Irish to make it home without embarassing yourself in some way. Cheers!
