Red Carpet Recap: Shoes from the 57th GRAMMY Awards

The Three to See

Red carpet coverage this year seemed to be extremely limited for this year's GRAMMY awards. A perusal through the images on Getty's website would make one thing that only a handful of boldface names even attended the show. Of those photographed (or published), only a few showed their shoes and even less wore anything to write home about. Nonetheless Kat Graham, Beyonce and Taylor Swift all tickled my shoe fancy. Here are their shoes (sans celebs... because we don't want the photo-related issues we've been hearing about from some other bloggers):

Beyonce

Jeweled Fendi Sandal Worn by Beyonce

Her arrival gown didn't really show her shoes, but when the queen of the Beyhive posed with her awards, she wore a sparkling black fringed mini and dramatic jeweled Fendi sandals. Crocodile, crystals, a caged look and a cutout heel make a winning combination here. No comment on the performance or whether or not she should have won the award instead of Beck. (Available at Saks.com)

Kat Graham

White Sophia Webster Pumps from the GRAMMYS

Kat Graham punctuated a sheer black and white gown with white Sophia Webster 'Coco' pumps. The stacked jeweled beads on the heels make them whimsically glamorous and added a dash of color to the monochromatic look. (Available on Sophia Webster's website)

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's Giuseppe Zanotti Sandals for the Grammys

The princess of emo pop rocked berry-colored suede wedge sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti with her teal gown. Though Pharell may not have been impressed with her dance moves, I liked the way she played with colors. (Available at yoox.com)

What did you think of the shoes on the red carpet this year? Which pair was your favorite?

Wild Wednesday: Fendi Monster Booties & A Sarsaparilla Old Fashioned

It's Scary out There

It's official. Winter has arrived. Considering the fact that a few days ago it was pretty warm outside, Jack Frost seems like a new kind of monster. We're friends with the monsters though, right? Well, even if you don't like the ones under your bed or that brutal one called winter wind, this Monster Bootie by Fendi will likely win you over. Fox fur trim at the ankle provides whimsy and warmth, and they eyes add to the fun. The sculptural open heel gives it a modern feel. Worn right, this bootie says your style is untamed, you know how to have fun and you don't mind attracting an extra eye or two. (Pun slightly intended.)

The bite of winter's wind is soothed by a sip of whiskey. Rye whiskey, with it's frontier-sy feel, fits right in with our wild theme today, and if sipping it straight isn't your thing, you'll want a cocktail containing the flavorful spirit. Try a Sarsaparilla Old Fashioned made with Knob Creek Rye at happy hour. While bourbon and scotch have a refined connotation, ordering rye at a bar gives you a little extra edge. Sarsaparilla was popular among cowboys in the old west, so having it in your cocktail contributes to your rabblerouser image.

Runway Recap: Milan, Fall 2012 RTW Fave Shoes of the Day- Prada, Fendi...

Day 2 of the Milan ready to wear shows were definitely more exciting on the footwear front. Here’s what caught my eye:

Blugirl

Blugirl Fall2012 RTW Milan

I’m a sucker for saddle shoes, especially when they have heels. Add bright, bubbly colors and I’m all in. Blugirl, these pastel cap toe oxfords are a win. **Photo by Piero Cristaldi via WWD

Fendi

Fendi AW Fall2012 ELLE

Multi color is one thing, but multicolor AND multi-material is different level of awesome (when done properly). Fendi’s Fall 2012 booties mixed leather, pony hair and sometimes snakeskin to create a look that was at once serious and fun. **Image via ELLE
